Who We Are

The Greater Newark Conservancy, a private, non-profit environmental and horticultural agency, has been operating since 1987. Its mission is to educate, train and support communities in creating environmentally safe neighborhoods through Grassroots Education and Training, Community Organizing, Preservation and Improvement of Open Space, Revitalization and Beautification, Job Training and Economic Development. (www.citybloom.org) The Greater Newark Conservancy serves as the project coordinator for Newark, NJ.

Sampling Plans

Does the level of industry and/or the number of people in our urban environment effect the quality of life here (East Side High School)

Based upon meteorological data, pollutants should be higher on the windward side of building. Are they? (West Side High School)

Students hypothesize that pollutants which trigger asthma are more prevalent in the urban setting (Newark) than rural (Blairstown). (Science High School)
